Emiliano Schena (BSc, MSc, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering) is currently a Full Professor at the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma (UCBM), where he is the UCBM Rector’s delegate for the Research Valorization and Lifelong learning, and Course Director of the Biomedical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Course. His research interests include design, development, and assessment of fiber optic sensors for applications in minimally invasive surgery and in wearable systems for monitoring physiological parameters, posture, and rehabilitation processes. He is co-founder of the spin-off HEREMOS (https://www.heremos.com). He is involved as coordinator/Principal investigator in many research projects. He is the author of 300+ papers in international journals, conferences, and books. He is serving on the editorial board of several journals, among others, IEEE Sensors Journal and Sensors MDPI.
